A young woman named Andrea escapes her predominately Catholic Midwestern town are joins up with a group of lesbian women in Portland, Oregon. After hitting a really low point in her life, she gets drunk, has sex with a man, and gets pregnant. The novel flashes forward 10 years and the daughter starts to ask questions about her father and Andrea has to face up to the past she'd hoped to leave behind.

TBR 2 | Tangerine | Christine Mangan | Release Date: March 27th, 2018

I think I've mentioned this one more than once here, but the cover and premise really drew me in. In 1950's Morocco, two ex best friends are reunited. At first the rekindling of their friendship seems like a good thing, but soon Alice starts to feel manipulated by Lucy, just as she had when they were younger. Then Alice's husband goes missing, forcing her to question everything around her. Including herself. I'm excited for this twisty, intense debut!

TBR 3 | Children of Blood and Bone | Tomi Adeyeme | March 6th, 2018

Children of Blood and Bone | TBR Etc.

This is book 1 in the series written by Nigerian American author Tomi Adeyeme, and it's getting huge buzz (For good reason). I don't tend to read fantasy, but even I'm excited for this one. You have dark magic, a diverse cast of characters, and an uprising led by a female protagonist who, with the help of rogue princess, is going to topple the abusive patriarchy. I expect it'll be fast paced and action packed with elements that will mirror our own world and make us think.

TBD 1 | Sometimes I Lie | Alice Feeney | Release Date: March 13th, 2018

Sometimes I Lie | TBR Etc

I have heard nothing but good things about this! I've had my eye on it since last year because of the insanely catchy blurb: My name is Amber Reynolds. There are three things you should know about me: 1. I’m in a coma. 2. My husband doesn’t love me anymore. 3. Sometimes I lie. Then the subtitle made me a wee bit dubious- "a psychological thriller with a killer twist you'll never forget"- but I definitely want to see what I think! When psychological thrillers are done well, there's nothing better for me.

In keeping with the trend so far for 2018, there are so many exciting new releases coming out in March!
