Talking all things books and reading. Easily distracted by new releases.
I am currently accepting physical ARCs. To contact me, please email tbretc@gmail.com . I prefer psychological thrillers, crime, mystery, adult fiction, and post apocalyptic genres. If I agree to a review, I will be clear that I was given the book in exchange for an honest review and post my review on this blog, Goodreads, and Amazon. My reviews include a synopsis, my opinion, opening line, favorite quote, and overall rating. Depending on the book, I may also post about it on my Instagram.
5 Stars- Stop what you're doing and go out and get this book immediately. You'll want this for your bookshelf.
4 Stars- I enjoyed it! I’d recommend this to other readers, but it’s not something that’s going to stick with me for a long time.
3 Stars- Good, but had some flaws. For me, this usually means the writing was too overworked, or there were one dimensional characters or a bad/poorly done ending.
2 Stars- Take it or leave it. Only pick this up if you have read some of the author's work in the past and you're especially interested.
1 Star- You might want to skip it. Didn't do anything for me and I struggled to finish- and if I’m being honest, I almost never rate books this low because if they’re that bad, I won’t finish.
DNF- I’m getting better at leaving books unfinished. It’s not always that it’s a bad book (although sometimes that does happen), it’s that the book isn’t working right now. I find giving myself space to not finish encourages me to read more widely- books that I otherwise wouldn’t have picked up.
